Well I know... I know

Well just a quick life update, with the lovely pandemic going on things have been insane for me and our family. I am still waiting to go back to work even after being told that I would be able to start back in July. Little has been back at daycare since I was informed that just before her birthday. Which she is officially a preschooler this year, not just a preschool 3-4 yrs she is actually in pre-kindergarten classes at her daycare. I am so proud of her.

Crafting wise I have completed several projects and started a few as well. I have finished the strawberry cardigan for the littles Easter dress, and am currently working on the steggie sweater for this fall for her. I’m trying really hard to open her color horizons as she only wants to wear pink.  I did get her to agree that stegosaurus’ were not pink in color fully so she could have pink for the spikes but not for the whole body of the sweater. Crochet wise I did just complete a stuffed unicorn and started the Sophie’s universe CAL blanket. I love the difficulty of this pattern so far it’s pretty easy and it’s showing me all sorts of new stitches.

Late spring 2020 update

Ok so the last few months have flown by in quite the blur. The little has been home with me since April 17th and I have been furloughed from work since March 21st this covid thing is insane although I have finished quite a few projects scrapbooking wise and knitting wise. I plan to share some of them with you all here.

October daily week one and two

On a side note I was actually able to start my October daily album for this year, I have completed a few pages with photos but no journaling at this time. I’m also going to wait until I have the album pages complete before decorating the cover. I really do love this time of year. This first photo is with my daughter and husband, the little loves the filters on Snapchat and Instagram and really likes to get into character when the seasons change.

These are just a couple of the pages I have completed, for the first two weeks of October. I have about 6 others done, however I don’t feel super comfortable posting the pictures as they are pretty easily recognized for the region we live. But anyway about these pages I printed a photo of the little in 8x10 size and cropped it to fit into the. 6x8 page protector this was one of the first days that the leaves really started to change over to reds and oranges. And before the first snow of the season.
This last one is one of the most recent pages I competed it is of I believe day 11 this day actually goes across 3 pages with two flip out pages as well. It snowed on day 10 so we couldn’t go to my friends wedding, but Friday when we did drive up to my aunt’s house the little had plenty of snow to create the seasons first snowmen and we even got a little bit of swimming in, gotta love Colorado. In any case this project is turning out to be so much fun and I am glad I decided to tackle it.

October daily 2019 preparation

Well so far I have gotten a little bit prepped but not really... I’m thinking I may still want to purchase a specific binder for the album from scrapbook.com. I know which one the black and white buffalo plaid from echo park would be the album of choice if I were to order one online. The other option could be an 8x8 burlap album from hobby lobby.

I think honestly that I might go with the 8x8 burlap album because I could customize it a fair bit more than the other. With a little bit of ink and stitching, which to be honest I think might be a little more fun. It would also mean that I could start the album with my photos from this Friday the 13th... I mean even though I did not watch any horror movies this year which kinda stinks. But what can you do right.

I am also currently still working on last year’s December Daily album, I haven’t decided yet if I should add the photos from the north pole and Santa from the little’s birthday to last years or this year’s album. I’m leaning more towards last year’s simply because we plan on doing another visit to Santa during the season this year. Here are a couple shots of last year’s album.

Well anyway that is all that I have for an update here I guess. Talk to you hopefully sooner than a year

October daily or December daily that is the question.

Or both!?!? So this year I have been seriously contemplating doing both October daily and December daily documenting for the fall and winter seasons. I know I enjoy December daily and that I also love Halloween and all things fall. So why not do both? The know that I will probably going to regret this life choice but I need to use all those free prints that snap fish and Shutterfly offer each month right.

Anyway, my daughter really loves looking through her albums and seeing how things have changed for moved around. So I think I will do both this year wish me luck as I have already started planning out my October daily album layouts.

Little is starting preschool... ack!!!

So this was the first week of my daughter’s preschool classes. Sunday night I printed out a first day of school sign that she could color and this is how it came out.

She loved that aspect of the morning I cannot believe how grown up she is getting, she loves to read and paint, and do all things crafty. But also is obsessed with the outdoors and loves to go hiking.  A couple of weeks ago she and I went for a walk through Garden of The Gods and she had so much fun running and walking and looking at the leaves changk

She is also a social butterfly who loves to make friends. Although I cannot understand some of her fashion choices, today it was her lepricorn (leprechaun unicorn) tee shirt and big bell bottom jeans. Well tonight is movie night so we shall see if she still wants to watch Aladdin or if she would prefer to see something else.  That is all for today and HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13th!!!!!

Scrapbooking and crafts

Well I hope you all are well and had amazing start to spring. This season I have started to scrapbook quite a bit more than I had in the past, I have created a 8x8 inch book that my daughter can use on a regular basis and I have also started a "the last two years" book for my in-laws. The way that I have been able to get all this done with the crazy schedule at work is the wonderful and glorious Project life app... yes I do realize that I am behind the 8 ball on this app but I have been using it for the last couple years as a way to plan out the project life layouts in my 12x12 album for the little, but I only just found the feature where you can export the layout in a smaller size and print from home instead of paying to print the pages as a 12x12. I picked up some 8.5x11 card stock from Hobby Lobby for half off the retail just to test if it would work in the printer as the associates in  my local store were not entirely sure if it would work. I will be honest the color saturation is not fantastic but it works.

I know that my little does love the album and finding out if there are any new pages magically added to it.

Crafting wise I have not quite finished the projects that I have wanted to complete in the last couple of months, I did however get the giraffe completed and the pink unicorn for my friend Emily's kids. I am still however working on the charizard for my older brother or my store manager. I am honestly leaning more toward giving that to my older brother. I will probably do a more detailed post on that when I have it completed and post photos. The current lighting situation is not conducive to the taking of pictures.

Well I think that is all that I have to say at the moment, I am going to try and post more often. I am trying to complete the December daily album for last year and I think i may also take part in Ali edwards' week in the life project this year it starts on the 6th of May which is honestly right in the middle of a long stretch at work for me, 12 days in total without a day off. woo hoo ok for real I am going to get ready for work now and get the things I need to from the store before I go in.
