Wow, so much has changed…

So much has changed in 6 years and 2 months. We now have 2 toddlers entering elementary school, one preteen entering her final year of elementary school. I have picked up several new hobbies as well, we’ve picked up quilting by hand and hand sewing. A wee bit of embroidery and mending as well. Munchkin has picked up gardening and has become a Girl Scout as well. This is a foreign concept for me but hubby has been a good sounding board for that. She has also found that she enjoys rock climbing.

Quilt wise in the last year I have completed 4. An owl for a former colleague at my job. And one for each of my children. I’m also currently working on binding another and have a couple in the planning stages.

Work has been intense as well, shipments of Christmas merchandise has been coming in hot for the last month or so and I’m always excited to unbox and get it out onto the sales floor.

Well I know... I know

Well just a quick life update, with the lovely pandemic going on things have been insane for me and our family. I am still waiting to go back to work even after being told that I would be able to start back in July. Little has been back at daycare since I was informed that just before her birthday. Which she is officially a preschooler this year, not just a preschool 3-4 yrs she is actually in pre-kindergarten classes at her daycare. I am so proud of her.

Crafting wise I have completed several projects and started a few as well. I have finished the strawberry cardigan for the littles Easter dress, and am currently working on the steggie sweater for this fall for her. I’m trying really hard to open her color horizons as she only wants to wear pink.  I did get her to agree that stegosaurus’ were not pink in color fully so she could have pink for the spikes but not for the whole body of the sweater. Crochet wise I did just complete a stuffed unicorn and started the Sophie’s universe CAL blanket. I love the difficulty of this pattern so far it’s pretty easy and it’s showing me all sorts of new stitches.

October daily 2019 preparation

Well so far I have gotten a little bit prepped but not really... I’m thinking I may still want to purchase a specific binder for the album from scrapbook.com. I know which one the black and white buffalo plaid from echo park would be the album of choice if I were to order one online. The other option could be an 8x8 burlap album from hobby lobby.

I think honestly that I might go with the 8x8 burlap album because I could customize it a fair bit more than the other. With a little bit of ink and stitching, which to be honest I think might be a little more fun. It would also mean that I could start the album with my photos from this Friday the 13th... I mean even though I did not watch any horror movies this year which kinda stinks. But what can you do right.

I am also currently still working on last year’s December Daily album, I haven’t decided yet if I should add the photos from the north pole and Santa from the little’s birthday to last years or this year’s album. I’m leaning more towards last year’s simply because we plan on doing another visit to Santa during the season this year. Here are a couple shots of last year’s album.

Well anyway that is all that I have for an update here I guess. Talk to you hopefully sooner than a year

Crafty update: baby dress!

Yep I am knitting again, I can't believe I stopped for so long. I keep forgetting how these sorts of things help me sort my mind out. So today's post is about a small portion of a baby shower gift for my co-worker. Here is a link to the patons booklet on ravelry.com unfortunately the pattern itself is not available anywhere and the booklet is out of print.

So far I am a couple of inches up the skirt portion of the dress. I am working with a yarn I picked up in micheals crafts,

http://www.michaels.com/loops-and-threads-snuggly-wuggly-yarn/M10108940.html?dwvar_M10108940_color=Pink#q=Snuggly+wuggly&start=1

I had my co-worker pick out the colors for the dress and she chose a medium grey with cotton candy pink colored flowers. While I work on this I have been watching YouTube and listening to music. While when I was knitting and crocheting this time last year I would do it while watching tv. While it is something I kind of miss but we haven't had cable in a good long while, since comcast encrypted the free tv out here. And I refuse to pay $30/mo for basic cable. But that is enough of that rant.

Anyway, back to the crafty update, instead of a medium charcoal grey I chose to make the dress in a dove grey and will be knitting up a stuffed bunny from the same pattern collection in the exact colors she had wanted. And I am excited to make that as well. Well that is it for now, hope you all have a great day/night/afternoon and weekend! Luv you guys.
