this week I will probably be decorating for christmas and cleaning my parents' house since my uncle and his family are coming to colorado in a little over a week... I finished the bunny doll yesterday morning and have pictures just waiting to be posted. I think it looks cute, however I will probably not post the pictures till after Christmas since I dont know if my little sister checks this blog or not. anyway I will be sending out christmas presents for my boyfriend and possibly his parents as well this week and pray that they make it there in time.
tomorrow should be an interesting day as my family is going to my aunt's house in denver to bake cookies. but we probably will not be bringing any back with us afterword.

well well well
two posts in two days that has to be a miracle this year (~.~;) sorry. today's final is Islam cosmology and practice, While it is an interesting class it is moderately demanding of my time, reading wise and yet I still can not seem to be able to draw on that information for the exams in the class, I can use the information derived from those readings in my other classes for examples on essay exams and what not but I am forever perplexed upon the reasoning as to why I cannot do that for this class. it makes no sense. oh well.
while the last couple months I have been debating selling the dolls that I make in my spare time since they're what I have been doing in order to remain sane during the semester I seem to have accumulated quite a bit of them in the last couple weeks, while i did post this on my deviantart account I did not on here, mostly because I am still researching this idea... and I tend to use research as a procrastination technique... I know not healthy but it saves me from the issue of half-baked ideas in the long run really. anyway in my research I was looking into how much I could possibly sell these dolls and the clothes that I make for them for, and I actually found someone selling crocheted ~18" dolls on etsy.com for 98 USD... $98 bucks really that is something that absolutely confounds my mind that someone could sell a doll that was crocheted for that much money, I was thinking like maybe selling mine for max about $20-30 depending on size and if it is a custom order I might charge more. I mean if I buy the safety eyes in bulk its only about $15 for 50 pairs of clear and I can paint them myself right....
on another note I am on the second ear for my sister's dead bunny and it is just as sparkly as the dead kitteh I made for my friend marina a couple weeks ago. I kinda like it, Dale's blanket is still not seamed yet nor does it have its border either I have been crazy busy studying for finals in the last couple weeks, however I did get the monkey that I was making almost finished as well, so when I go home on Friday I have to remember to bring them and the present that marina made him with me so that I can mail them out. I will probably edit this post later today to add pictures of the dolls that I have finished in the last couple weeks.

December 1st... is it really that close already
well its been a while since I have had the time to remember to post on here, Thanksgiving with my family was soo much fun this year and I might have even been able to find the right ginger cookie this time, the only problem was that I had my sister make the frosting and she isn't the most patient person in the world. knitting wise I have made 2 mittens one is half of the set for my little brother's Christmas present and the other is for me. and I am even almost done with the matches for both of them.
that being said the idea of making something for everyone in my family for Christmas this year isn't going as I had originally planned, my brother's present is almost done, I haven't started my sister's, my mother's or my father's yet and I have all of 24 days to get them done and half of those days are preparations for finals week... this is soo not going to be easy. Plus side of it all is that I know what to get my bf this year and it shouldn't be too hard to make.

working on a blanket again
well I just realized this morning that I should look at the blanket that I have been workign on for my friend for a while now, since he is moving to Maryland in like 3 weeks. so upon looking at the peices that I have finished i realized that it is not nearly as big as i thought it was and I dont have nearly as many peices done as i had thought that i did. so I have been workign like crazy on this thing in the last couple hours. since It does need to fit a rather large bed and be done by the weekend of the 24th... good lord.
add to that I have one friend that this guy friend really doesnt like asking to do a double date with him, why do people feel the need to meddle in things that they really shouldnt stick their noses into? but that is neither here nor there the blanket must be finished soon. or I will be going insane since I have had an extra year to work on it.
so as it stands the celtic knot stole is on hold yet again because of this blanket event though all i really have to do with it is finish the border stitches on both sides of it.

knitting
so yea I am taking a short break from the hand killing socks to work on my celtic knot stole. I did a few more rows last night and have just about finished the first center chart repeat. that being said it is a totally jacked up mess. I still need to sew up my friend's blanket that sucker is taking for ever.... not that i have been working on it lately anyway.
as far as homework and school work go, I totally bombed my Japanese midterm and have gotten no rest. I ripped my nail up on a plank of wood so it hurts like hell to type and knit. so in general my day is sucking hard core. spring break starts in a couple days so i might go home and relax away from my pains in the asses of roommates. but who knows

sick...
so has anyone else had to deal with allergies and having a cold at the same time... the last time I had something like this it was over the summer and i was coughing up stuff for weeks. which isn't that bad i suppose its just uncomfortable. and I want to sleep all the time. add to that I feel kinda like i am in a bubble with all the sinus issues. should be interesting in class today.
that being said I haven't really gotten any knitting done in the last couple days while i was at my parents house, mostly because I was sleeping or just trying to breathe in general. today though I did get through the first center chart repeat of the Celtic knot stole. and I have been changing that sucker since i started it. but that is neither here nor there at this moment in time. I also finally was able to cast on one of the ravelempics projects that I signed up to do. the nine to five socks by Nicole Hindes. it should be interesting since I have always worked from charts and this pattern isn't charted. I also printed out the pattern for the other project that i was going to do, the white witch mittens. but i haven't gotten the yarn for it yet.
so far though this semester at school is going rather well considering that I havent really had a really successful semester here yet.

wow it has been a while.
Well lets see this semester at school is going on rather uneventfully, I am in the Japanese classes again and I really like this teacher much more than any of the others that I have had at this school. My Asian Civilizations professor not so much this time around. I have the class at 10 in the morning and my professor has a British accent and a massive lisp as well its just kinda awkward.
As far as my knitting goes I am still not done with the blanket for Dale nor am I done with the sweater for my little sister. but the blanket just needs a few more adjustments before he leaves for where ever it is that he is moving to. and the sweater well that is gonna get frogged and reknit in a larger size its shocking how much the body grows in the teenage years I had totally forgotten that small fact when i started it a couple summers ago... actually i think it was just last spring but i would have to check my ravelry page to be sure and I am just way to lazy right now. I have also started another lace shawl, I really enjoy those so to anyone who might get me a birthday gift... really really nice lace weight yarn would be a really good start. and maybe one of the patterns from heirloom knitting... preferablly one of the wedding band shawl patterns would be great. I love challenges. but i doubt that i would ever get one since those patterns tend to sell out really really quickly on their webpage.

in the library
on the needles
1. baby blanket
2. caitlyn's sweater
3. dale's blanket
4. something new...
yep so I am now just completely nuts... oh well cant really go too far into that right now. well I finally finished that baby blanket, it didnt take nearly as long as i thought it would. I am still workign on dale's blanket, and my sister's cabled sweater but i think caitlyn's sweater will be done in like a week after i finally get around to buying a second size 8 needle for the hood. but at the same time i kinda want to start on a couple more baby items for that girl that is having a baby soon. not really sure what i will make though. got an A- on my first paper in my class, a B+ on my first psy exam and paper, and I will find out my grade for the first Soc exam this afternoon after my last class.

in the lab
on the needles:
1. Bleeding hearts Stole
2. Twisted Tulip socks
3. Dale's blanket...more on the hook actually
so I'm just waitng for my class to start, I am soo close to done on the bleeding hearts stole and the socks arent even close to half finished. but I have been working like crazy on school work so I am not really surprised. I think I may just start on the second sock for the twisted tulip socks now so that I know I will have enough yarn, and that they will be the same gauge. I have that problem alot. Dale's blanket is coming along nicely and I can say that he will probably like it. I hope.

as it stands school sucks some real monkey balls and there isnt a whole lot that i can do to fix that at this point in time.
i'm going home this weekend and that makes me really happy. so we shall see what i can get done this week before i go.

Oh bad me Bad llahma
Hey ya all, yea I've been bad knowing that I'm on a crazy college budget for things like food, rent, utilities and what not, I did the unthinkable.... I bought a corset.... I know I didn't have a lot of money at the time, and I know that I shouldn't have done it. but it was just too good a deal to pass up a 60 dollar corset for 21 bucks I mean come on who in there right mind would pass that up right??
needless to say I wont be buying any yarn for quite a while because of it, nor any other clothes for that matter.
I think I may just quit while I am ahead on that shawl and just block it to see how the pattern looks , if it looks good then I'll ask my mom for some money and get some lace weight yarn. or I'll be smart and find my Joann's gift card and order some. but needless to say i do have some lace weight yarn in my apartment that i would have to wind-up into a ball but it should look nice. oh yea and it would seem that all my friends are planning their weddings can someone just kill me now please. I find the whole thing dreadful, No i don't begrudge them their happiness its just that's tooo many damned gifts to make or get, I'm really thinking that Dale is going to wait until his wedding for that blanket, cause as much as he protests that he wont be married i sooo think he will be within the next year 18 months at most. its sooo cute he's soo crazy wrapped about this girls little finger. but if it makes him happy more power to em.
on another note my happy ass is going to be visiting my family in the springs this weekend before my dad leaves again for japan, this should be fun.

school bah
yep in my infinate smarts I have only been to my psychology class maybe 3-4 times in the last 3 weeks, and I missed last class, have the first exam next class first thing tomorrow morning. and have no idea whats going to be on it..... now I know I should have pulled my self outta bed at 6 yesterday mornign too, like I did today, but my alarm didnt go off I swear, either that or I was soo tired from not sleeping all weekend that I just slept through it. but either way i missed class and that wasnt smart.
but on a lighter note I started another ball of yarn on my candle flame shawl and might be done with the whole thing by then end of next month, which may free up time for my friend's blanket.... but I doubt he even remembers that he's getting it. oh well. time for readings, I may update this later today I'm not too sure yet. ttyl

OK so yes i still live.....
Yep. I've now moved into my new apartment and have been going to CSU Fort Collins for about a week and a half. So far I haven't really had to much time to get much knitting or crochet done, so Dale if u read this that's why you wont be getting your blanket for Christmas.... well that and I'm still trying to finish that candle flame shawl I started before I said I would make the blanket.
as far as my classes go, I'm liking most of them and they aren't that hard since this school didn't really accept very many of my credits from PPCC, which blows. right now I am taking Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Composition, and Literature (lit might be dropped today for another class, but I don't really know yet.) Umm.... like I said, I kind of dropped the blanket for my friend till I get more finished here and get truly settled in. But that shawl I just have to get done its kinda starting to drive me mad with the light blue color, I want to start with the indigo really quick.
umm.... what else should I say here, I know I know I'm out of practice. I really don't think i have written anything on here since i got my acceptance in the mail. amazing that was almost a month and a half ago. well that's all i have to say right now as things stand. so i may or may not write more out later when i finish my readings. See ya

ok so umm yea
so yea.... I now have extra time to find the yarn i want to use on my friends christmas present... he kinda already knows what it is but doesnt know what colors i have picked. but here's a couple pictures of the yarns I'm gunna test out for it and see which i think feels better on the skin and dont hurt to work with....i know i'll be working on it for a while.
though i havent worked with those yet they feel sooo soft.
this one is a cotton blend and feels soo soft and since he doesnt check this blog i can say that i will probably use this brand and yarn. if it came in the right shade of red.

knitting again
or well crocheting again.... i got some yarn to test for my friend's blanket, i think i will make it out of berroco touche cause it is just insanely soft for a cotton blend and i love it. i also got berroco nostalgia in a blue colorway, not sure how i like it yet i cant find a stitch pattern that i like for it yet. umm what else.... work blows and i hate macy's i dont condone working for them.
