Disney Princess runcation

So last week, as you all know, I flew down to Disney world for some time with my family before I ran my first big long race. I had so much fun seeing them all. 

This was the second day in the parks. I don't know how my sister managed to convince everyone that we needed hats or ears or even how I ended up with ears but yea there you go we did the cliche Disney thing almost.

But these things should not be the focus of this post, but rather the real reason I was down in Florida, the Disney Princess 1/2 marathon weekend. My mother and I ran/walked the 13.1 miles of this course from Epcot to magic kingdom and back again. 

Unfortunately I did not get a picture of my mother and I before the start of the race, she did but has yet to send it my way. Oh well, I do have this photo though from

From about mile 4, just before we got into the magic kingdom. 

Over all I would say after the fact I really enjoyed the race, but if you had asked me if I liked it those last 3.1 miles of it I might have wished for the energy to punch you in the face. And needless to say we did finish and have the shirts to prove it. 

And let's not forget that insane medal that was the driving force to get through the last 3 miles. 

Would I do it again? In a heartbeat. I'm actually thinking of doing another 1/2 this year and maybe even 2 more. But we shall see how it goes. 

And I promise not to drop off the face of the earth again just because of work and packing. I really need to keep up with my editorial calender. 😓😅 I know I'm bad at it, but the year started off so promising. 

Well that there is 1 race of my 14 in '14 challenge. Maybe the next one will be a 5k with the bf. Only time will tell.

Wow. In Florida.

Yep as the title implies I am in Florida... Orlando to be precise. Sitting at the airport waiting on the shuttle to the hotel. I know I planned on doing a post on what I was bringing with me to the hotel, but as I was crazy busy with work this week and had no time to do anything other than crash after my shift. I didn't even have time to run, last week and I still need to post my running update from the week prior. I promise I will have that up soon. 

Yarny wise- I did not bring my knitting Olympics project with me this time around (worried it would get taken away before I even got on the plane) so I brought some worsted weight yarn and a small crochet hook to help me pass the time. 

But that is it for today, I have to conserve data for instagram and twitter posts.

A little bit of random. Cold and Flu season is here...

And in my house. My boyfriend has been sick the last couple of days. With a massive head cold and possibly a slight flu last week as well. Now I am worried that I might get sick, you see I work retail and a lot of the people who come and shop lately have been sick. And this is a maternity store. Don't you think you should be courteous to the other patrons if not the workers who have to handle your germ infused money?

 But I digress... The bf is sick and I haven't really been sleeping all that well either. He seems to think it is because of all the running the last week, but I mean hey it helped me sleep all summer so why won't it work in the winter? Who knows at least I have my running mojo back. And only about a month till Florida, talk about crunch time. 

Well that is all of the random I have for the moment. Off to finish work.
