So if you all will recall a couple months ago I posted about a couple of apartments we had looked that were promising to look at from the outside, the only issue with them was they were subsidized housing not sure if that was the right term and only rented to people on welfare. Something my bf and I refuse to even think about doing. Anyway long story short we did end up finding a place within our price range and not too far from where we lived currently so the move should not have been super stressful.
When we looked at the apartment, we were told that there were 2 on the first floor which were coming available around the time of our move out date and one other which would not be available until June. We thought it over and the next day put down the $99 security deposit to hold the first floor apartment that was not in the same building as the property manager (we did not want to have issues with her acting like a parent, she is in her late 50-60's,) we had thought yay now we just need to pack the next couple of weeks and be ready to move in.
Two days later or so we get a call from the property manager that the apartment we had put the hold on had already been rented and we would have to come back and look at the other one that was coming available at the end of April. This was not an issue for us so we stopped back in and she told us that while the apartment was empty and in the middle of being renovated we were assured it would be done come April 18th when we should have been moving in. New everything appliances, counters, tub, and flooring, this is what we were told on (second appt with apt manager).
At the beginning of April we were called and told that we would have to move in on April 1st because our apartment was ready to be put on the market and they might not be able to hold it till the end of the month, even though that was the whole point to the security deposit. This really should have been the first of many red flags about this management group, that week we signed the lease... Not a comfortable feeling, there were so many clauses that I did not like... But now it is too late to whine about it. We are moved in and I should be unpacking.
Well Thursday I will be posting my April faves, there aren't many but I did try out some new things.
As always luv ya all! And talk with ya soon.
