Here in the grand and lovely York, PA there appears to be no such system. There was a full week of notice of a winter storm warning and they did not think to have the plows ready to salt the roads. Really! Just because the weather service down-graded the storm to an advisory does not mean that you do not need to think of the safety of your citizens. That you do not need to take some kind of precaution for a slight ice storm that was being called for at that point.
Now I will be honest at 9am when I came into work I did not think anything of the slight flurries I was seeing as they did not even stick to my car, but like I said I am from Colorado, unlike a majority of your citizens who haven't driven in real snow in years so they freak out at just a dashing. On dry roads. But if he roads are soaked and frozen they feel the need to drive 90mph. How is this safe?!?
I have been in the mall all day working so I am not sure what it is actually like outside, but from the things I have heard from customers and other stores in my chain, it is not looking good. So why has the mall not done an early closing? Because this time of year it is too inportant to line the pockets of greedy managers of a dying mall. There are no customers, there probably will not be anymore today (haven't had a sale since 1:09pm it is now 6pm) yea not happy.
These skylights you can normally see the clouds really super clearly. And at 2pm they looked like this
Maybe the hysteria of the locals when it comes to snow is just compounding my normal fear levels of the soft wet stuff, but this is getting crazy.

But the bf isn't even going to come home tonight, he's staying at a hotel downtown cause he almost flipped his car twice when trying to get home from work about 2 hours ago. So yea it is gonna be a lonely night in with running on a rebounder to the Wii. Yay. Well this is the end of my random rant on safety in the winter, I will now return you to the regularly scheduled programming. (Random I know)
I don't leave for another hour and unless things get super ugly on the way home I will have my planned post on my winter running essentials typed tonight when I get home. Wish me luck. I hope I can get home for #runchat, but at this point is unlikely.
Love ya all!
Edited to add:
So I still plan on posting the running essentials post, but it has become really late. I had fun with #runchat and such but now it is time for bed, and I don't really have time to look up the links for the post tonight so that will be up before I go to work tomorrow. And with that I can only say GoodNight 😘
