holiday baking traditions begin.

Now I know I see all these lovely "how not to gain weight during the holidays" posts all over my feeds, (google+, YouTube, twitter, etc.) this is not going to be one of those posts. I know this year I wanted to live a healthier lifestyle, eat right and exercize, but that doesn't mean I want to give up the things that make me happy. Baking and cooking are some of those things. With that little disclaimer out of the way lets get this post rolling.

Now I know most ladies who post about holiday baking start the process a lot earlier than I do, but traditionally in my family we do the baking the weekend before Christmas, there is a very simple reason for this, it is so the family doesn't eat them all before Santa can have at least one or two. I know we are a weird bunch, but since I have moved I don't have all of the recipes and cookie cutters anymore, so I am sort of at a loss for what to do. I mean I could look the cookie cutters up online and the recipe to order them, but it is highly unlikely that they would get to my apartment in one piece (issues with UPS don't ask). But I suppose I could look into it.

Anyway the start of the holiday baking for me will begin on Saturday, when I will be attempting to make a cheesecake in our gas oven. It will be a most interesting adventure for me, and then I will see if I even want to work on the temperamental cookie recipes. I know I have to make at least one cookie recipe, my great-aunt's ginger molasses cookies frosted. They're everyone in my family's favorite homemade cookies and I have to send some to each of them with their gifts.

Well wish me luck as I am headed into work again less than 12hrs after leaving the place. Thanks for reading.

And as always Luv ya all!
