This year I tried to focus more on my etsy shop, getting products made that might sell. As a result I even started working with new materials as well to see if it would make the process any easier or quicker. I made some stuffed and beaded voodoo doll head cell phone charms. these were actually pretty popular at my old job out in colorado, but I didn't have the time to make them out there. A lot of work goes into the beading of the hair on that little guy, at least 3-5 hours of it. It was fun to get the final result though.
I also made these cute little polymer clay phone charms to try something different.I had started to work on a s'mores charm before I moved as well if I can find the pieces I will insert a picture of them here as well. Also in this picture is a little domo-kun necklace I was working on for my sister's birthday.
I made a couple of dolls as well, none have made their way into etsy yet though. The demon doll was a fun one, I found the spikes in a Hot Topic store out in colorado last year and was trying to figure out what to do with them. they're screw-in spikes so they shouldn't come out, but I still wouldn't give this doll to any child under the age of like maybe 8 to play with... An 8 year old knows better than to swallow small parts of toys right? The next doll was the Franken-doll, I think I can't really remember what I had worked on before my move in April, she will soon have a sunshine yellow knit dress. These are the only things I have actually finished in the last couple of months.
My current WIPs are quite adorable; another domo-kun doll , and a medium country blue teddy bear. Unfortunately, the bear seems to be depressing me a great deal so I don't know when he will be done, but the domo doll is moving along quite quickly the gusset is almost done and then it's just seaming him up and stuffing him. Then adding his face of course, I already picked up the felt for that the other day.
Knitting wise I don't think I have done much of what I had wanted to do this year... No lace, no fair isle, no cables. I am hoping that in the new year I will have some time for that. That being said knitting is usually my go to travel past time to do. I have one trip planned planned for February down to Florida, and one trip out to colorado tentatively planned for September as well. Both prime knitting times. Can't wait.
I have also been drawing and sketching quite a bit more in the last couple of months, with all of my off hours at work and such. I have even been drawing out weekly schedules for myself. It's quite fun. If I can find the link to the video that got me started on that I will post it. I mean the drawings aren't great or anything but they are fun to do so I think i will keep it up.
I don't know if you found this interesting at all or what but I liked writing it. And I hope you all have a great holiday season and a happy new year.
Luv ya all!
